Valentine's Day
Posted by Hayley Kay on February 07, 2017 at 10:47am

Hello,

As you know Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. We will be having a small celebration in class on Tuesday the 14th. Students may bring cards for each student in the class (we have 24 students total), either store bought or handmade is fine.

They may also bring a small treat for themselves or the whole class. However, any food brought in must not have peanuts, tree nuts, sunflower seeds, shellfish, or sesame seeds as there are allergies to these products. I will also provide some snacks.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day. If you have any questions, please let me know. My email address is hayley.kay@rentonschools.us">hayley.kay@rentonschools.us.

Sincerely,

Ms. Kay

Homework
Posted by Hayley Kay on September 14, 2016 at 6:39pm

Homework this year is 20 minutes of reading and any unfinished work from the day. In their planners, I'd appreciate it if you signed off each day that they read 20 minutes. If you have any questions let me know, thanks!

Snacks
Posted by Hayley Kay on September 14, 2016 at 6:38pm

This year our lunch isn't until 1:05pm, we do allow snacks in the morning as long as they are nut, peanut, and shellfish free. Monday-Thursday students should bring a healthy snack (sugar and/or high fructose corn syrup can't be in the first 5 ingredients) but Friday they can bring an unhealthy snack (candy, chips, etc.). They are not allowed to share due to allergy concerns. Thanks for sending your child to school with a snack each day!

Welcome

Welcome to Fifth Grade!

Hello, I'm Ms. Kay. I am super excited to be teaching 5th grade this year at Bryn Mawr! This year we will learn about the United States, Ecosystems, fractions and much, much more. We also have Camp Seymour in March, which I will be sending out more information on later in the year. This year the homework will only consist of reading and any unfinished work.

I am very passionate about all subjects, but science and social studies are my favorites. I try and utilize technology as much as possible. I believe that it is super important that we all work together to make sure we get the most out of this school year. I know that everybody thinks differently and my job, as a teacher, is to make sure we all grow together as learners.

IMG_1384_2.JPGWant to know a bit about me? I recently graduated from Central Washington University in Ellensburg. In my spare time I love to read books, I especially enjoy fantasy/fiction books. I also spend time going on walks or hikes with my little dog, Bear. If you need to contact me my email is hayley.kay@rentonschools.us" class="Hyperlink SCX221189212">hayley.kay@rentonschools.us Or you can use the "Contact Me" Link on this page.

I look forward to meeting each of you at curriculum night on September 22nd!

Kind Regards,

Hayley Kay
