Info for Sponsors & F.A.Q.

We participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), a program that teaches high school students a variety of skills from engineering to public relations.

FIRST is an international organization dedicated to inspiring young people to be the world's next science and technology leaders. FRC is the varsity team of FIRST, which teaches high school students how to use STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) skills to design and build a robot in a span of 6 weeks. In the process, students also learn other skills that are useful in life after high school, like project management and communication. Everything is done by the students; we fund, design, and build the robot with guidance from our mentors.

We Need Your Help to Meet Our Goals

Additionally, our team is actively looking for sponsors. Our past sponsors have donated anything between in-kind materials and monetary donations to summer internship opportunities for our students. Last year we fundraised around $20,000, enough to build the robot and go to competition. Our goal this year is to fundraise around $45,000--enough to also compete at World Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, especially because we qualified, but didn't have enough funds to go last year. This year, however, we’ve made it a priority and are planning on managing the budget well enough to make the trip.

If you are interested in sponsoring our team please shoot us an email with your interest!

What can sponsors provide?

  • Financial support (Monetary donations)
  • In-kind donations (building materials, robot parts, food, or anything from our wishlist)

What are you using the money for?
If you are interested in supporting our team, there are many ways that you or your company can help. We use the money for all sorts of things: materials to build our robot, registration fees to compete in district events and championship, transportation, lodging, and food. You can also check out our wishlist below, which lists most of these materials in detail..

How does FIRST benefit students?
In our program, we learn and apply STEM concepts needed to build a robot, but we also gain valuable life-skills, such as:

  • Organization
  • Time management
  • Setting priorities
  • Problem solving
  • Confidence
  • Communication

What do I get out of it?
Depending on the size of your contribution, we have a few different places where we can provide you ad space, including your logo on our "Sponsors" page, on our public handouts, and even as a decal on our robot. Please see our donation matrix below, for specifics:

How can I give you the money? Are there tax benefits?
Checks may be written out to "Lindbergh High School Robotics" and sent to the address below. Since we are a 501(c) nonprofit organization, any donation will be tax deductible. Once we receive your check, the Renton School District will send you a letter that confirms your donation and can be used for tax purposes.
