“Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.”  - Socrates

Mission Statement

Being a local of the Pacific Northwest, there is truly no other place that I would rather immerse myself in and give back to my community. My dream is not just to teach, but to be a part of my community, a place where I can share my love of education, teaching the members of the community that I know that I can impact the most: the students. I am excited to be a teacher here at Renton High School, delving further into the community and doing my part to help nurture and educate the students of the area, the uprising generations of America. I will be a role model and a guide, who will help foster a love for education and push them towards success as individuals. It takes one person to make a difference in the life of a student, and I will continuously strive to be that one person for each of my students.

Educational Background

I have a Master's Degree in Secondary Education and a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. I have worked in several school districts and participated in various educational committees.

Extracurricular Hobbies

My personal life reflects my ambition and my drive as well. I find peace and beauty in our natural world, and I believe that it is our responsibility to preserve and protect it. I am a strong advocate for Leave No Trace Behind. I mountaineer, rock climb, hike, river raft, snowboard, practice yoga, and travel. I am an adventurer, and I truly believe that we have been given a beautiful gift to live on this Earth.

It takes one smile, one kind gesture, and one person to make a difference.

Kindest Regards,

Jessica DiAsio, M.Ed.
