7th Grade: Outline & Argumentative Letter
Posted by Abby LeBaron on March 26, 2018 at 3:10pm

Good afternoon,
This week students are finishing their outline and typing up their Argumentative Letters.  At this point, students should have the following completed on their outlines: Claim, Topic Sentences for Body Paragraphs 1, 2, and 3 and Evidence selected (5 pieces).  Tomorrow, there will be a mini-lesson on analysis/reasoning and students will continue to type in Google Classroom (accessible at home).

The final argumentative letter is due this Friday and there will not be computers available in class next week to catch up.  I would encourage you to have your student attend Study Zone in the library Tuesday and/or Thursday after school if more time on the computers is needed or additional help.

Lastly, this is the last week of the March Madness Reading Challenge; many students have read an extraordinary amount of books and I am so proud of their effort. For those students who have read 2 books or less, I believe it is reasonable for them to finish at least another book this week (by Friday).  I know that some students read more slowly, but I also know that if students are reading 15-20 minutes in class each day and 30 minutes at night as their homework that they should move through books a bit more quickly than what I am noticing.

Please let me know if you have questions about finishing up 3rd quarter!
